Joining Havering Freegle

There are a couple of ways you can join the Havering Freegle group.

Freegle Direct

Freegle Direct is Freegle's own platform offering easy ways to join your local groups and the platform we recommend. If you have a Google, Yahoo or Facebook account, you can join the group with any of these ID's or you can register directly.

Freegle Direct offers features such as -

Seeing just OFFER posts, or just WANTED posts for items not yet received.

An easy to use online Message Maker form.

Automatic reminders to let you change OFFERs to TAKEN and to repost your items with just one simple click.

The Freegle Direct platform shows you all your groups on one page.

Maps to show where items offered are.

An Ebay style feedback section.

Easily add photo's of items you are offering and see photo's of items being offered.

By Email

Joining by email is another easy way of becoming a member of Havering Freegle. All you need to do is send an email to Havering-Freegle-subscribe@yahoogroups.com then reply to the confirmation email you receive back. Once a member by email, you will receive group messages to your email inbox either individually or by Daily Digest - one email a day containing the day's messages, depending on your choice. The downside to becoming a mail only member is that you will not have access to the group's web features. By joining as a full group member you have access to the homegroup on the website where you can view and reply to the messages, view photo's of items being offered, change membership and mail delivery settings, access files, calanders and polls.

Through Yahoo Groups

Although this way takes a little longer, we recommend this method over being an email only member due to the extra benefits members receive. To join Havering Freegle through Yahoo Groups you will need a Yahoo email address, you can change this to your usual email address through your membership settings once you have joined. Visit our home page and click on the 'Join This Group' button. Yahoo will walk you through the setup of creating a Yahoo email address if you don't yet have one, before walking you through the group's joining process. Once you have completed this, you will receive a confirmation email to your Yahoo email address which will need replying to. As soon as your reply is received your application will be dealt with.
